Majority of Canadian CEOs feel “very well prepared” for cyberattack: KPMG

Only 26% of CEOs globally feel as confident

Canadian CEOs are confident about their ability to contain a cyberattack, according KPMG’s 2018 Global CEO Outlook.

The report found that while CEOs in Canada believe cyberattacks are the greatest threat to their growth, 86% feel prepared to contain the impact of a cyberattack, and 56% feel very well prepared.

“This personal investment by Canadian CEOs gives them a far greater confidence than their global peers, where only 26% said they were very well prepared for an attack,” said Georgina Black, partner and national leader, management consulting for KPMG in Canada.

KPMG also found that most CEOs in Canada feel it is no longer a case of if they’ll be hit by a cyberattack, but when.

KPMG surveyed 1,300 CEOs from around the world for its 2018 Global CEO Outlook. The full report can be read here.
