WICC’s fundraising is all fore cancer research

Whether golfers were hitting a hole in one or found themselves striking a bogey, attendees of the Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade’s (WICC) charity golf tournament earlier this month were there for a common purpose: to raise money for an important cause.

The recent event raised $50,000 with proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society to help fund cancer research. WICC also used the day of golf to commemorate Canada’s 150th birthday.

WICC has four branches in British Columbia, Ontario, Alberta and Quebec. It celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2016 and has raised more than $13 million since its inception. WICC’s Ontario chapter, in particular, has donated more than $5 million to the Canadian Cancer Society.
